Charlotte van Meer
Charlotte van Meer rejoined AkzoNobel in January 2024 as General Counsel.
She spent the previous four years as Chief Legal Officer of metal packaging company Trivium. Prior thereto, Charlotte had worked for AkzoNobel for over 10 years in several roles in the legal function. She was Corporate Secretary to the Board of Management, Executive Committee and Supervisory Board from 2014 to 2018, where she successfully organized AkzoNobel's defense against the unsolicited bid from PPG. She was then appointed Group Director Legal Corporate, in which role she oversaw the M&A portfolio, including the legal aspects of the sale of Specialty Chemicals, before being appointed Head of Legal for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Before joining AkzoNobel, Charlotte was an associate at Dutch law firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek.
Charlotte is admitted to the Dutch bar. She graduated from Leiden University with a double major in Business and Civil Law and she obtained an LL.M degree in Corporate Governance from Stanford University.
